Garrett had a dentist appointment yesterday. So while he was in the chair, I was talking with another mom about Actors or actresses that you just love on the big screen and how sometimes it doesn’t even matter what the movie is, you just wanna see it because they are in it.

Hers were Jason Segel (wrote and starred in Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Steve Carell;  and female, Meryl Streep

Brad has a friend who is tired of his neighbor letting the dogs out!

Here’s the deal:

His not so nice neighbor has 2 large dogs that stay outside all the time. His friend has tried several times to ask the dogs owner to please control the dogs or bring them in since they bark all night long.

After 6 months the neighbor has refused to do anything and he finally called Knox Co. animal control and they have been no help.

He can’t take it anymore!

Got the flu? New Facebook app, ‘Help, I Have the Flu,’ helps you figure out who to blame!

“Help, I Have the Flu” is a new Facebook app that trolls through friends’ profiles looking for keywords such as ‘sneezing,’ ‘coughing,’ and ‘vomiting’ as well as check-ins to find the culprit who may have passed on the virus.

“Hello. I’m sorry you have the flu,” reads the app. “Nothing will make you feel better like finding somebody to blame.”

An interesting idea is pushing it’s way into Indiana schools... Prayer in Public schools.

Senator Dennis Kruse wants to bring back prayer; the bill he has introduced allows school districts to require each school day to begin by reciting “The Lord’s Prayer,” though individual students could opt out if they or their parents preferred.

With Republicans holding overwhelming majorities in both the Indiana House and Senate and former U.S. Rep. Mike Pence preparing to take office as governor, some critics have anticipated an easy path.

Cooking 101

I have a question and perhaps you have some good advice for me on cooking and cookware!  I will preface this with: You know how I love those infomercials!

Okay, so 10 years ago I went Calphon (the non-stick gray look) in my cooking.

But I noticed after years there were little gray flakes coming off in my food!

So I looked around and there are so many choices! Anolon... Circulon... Hard-anodized... Porcelain... and when I decided to replace my cookware, everyone was raving about stainless steel!

Janell Burley Hoffman: they’ve called her “one smart mom” and “a baffooon of a parent.”

On Christmas, Janell gave her 13-year-old son an iPhone, plus an 18 point contract stipulating what he can and cannot do with the phone.

Janell Burley Hofmann posted the contract on her blog.

Congress may have averted the worst of the fiscal cliff with a last-minute deal Tuesday night — but your taxes are still going up.

If you're an average American worker, you'll see your Social Security payroll tax return to 6.2%, up from a lowered rate of 4.2%. For example: If you make an annual salary of $50,000 pre-tax, you'll be paying $1,000 more in taxes this year.

So why did this happen? The deal passed by Congress ends a two-year payroll tax holiday passed in 2010 in an effort to stimulate economic growth.

Here is the special poem someone sent to us remember those lives lost on December 14, 2012. Never forget! Here's the email.

My wife wrote a poem this morning as she was thinking about the shootings in Connecticut. I would like to share the poem with all of you...I would also like to say--put down your cell phones and play with your kids today.....and every day. I see people (myself included) often placing so much time and emphasis on unimportant things. Re-focus your life where it needs to be. God and family. Here is Cameo's poem. If you like it, feel free to share:

The holidays can be lonely if you’re single.

And if you’ve tried dating websites, listening to friends advice on who you should date perhaps you need to try the Sandy McCulloch approach.

He’s searching for a wife.

At age 82, Sandy says it’s not easy to find someone to bring into his life.

A little background on Sandy, he had three ex-wives by the time he was 39, he learned volumes in the first half of his life about what not to do in a relationship. He was an emotional cripple decades ago, he said, but he has since cleaned up his act.
