Memorial Weekend

 

A new study put out Wednesday by the National Coalition for Safer roads is warning us that THIS weekend could be more dangerous than any other holiday

The report found that more than 2.3 million drivers in 18 states ran a red light last year, and the number of runners missing the red light was more than 27% higher on Memorial Day weekend than on an average non-holiday weekend.

Wow... This shocked me a little... but perhaps I am not able to put myself in the place of a stay at home mom, so I can't imagine what their day is like. But I do know that Taking care of kids around the clock can be hazardous to your mental health. It's taxing and you just don't get a break sometimes...

A Gallup survey of 60,000 women discovered that stay-at-home moms are more likely to have depression, sadness, and anger than working moms.

6 year old walks

6 year old Caleb Roach of Pickett Elementary in St Joseph, Missouri brought the house down at his talent show. The audience gave him a standing ovation that lasted nearly 10 minutes....

It was pretty amazing considering the show featured magic tricks, dance routines, singers, and piano players; but it was Caleb's talent that was so simple in its form that got the biggest reaction.

NON TEXTING and DRVING

Today (FRIDAY), we may have an answer about texting and driving- even if you're NOT behind the wheel.  This is a landmark lawsuit that could set a precedent.  18 year old Kyle Best of New Jersey was in his truck texting and driving.

Now BOTH texting and talking on a cell phone are BANNED in that state. But Kyle is doing it.

Meanwhile David and Linda Kubert are out for ride on their motorcycle.  They have no idea that in a few minutes they will cross paths....

WRONG HOUSE

You know how exciting buying a home can be- it's a place to call your own. You get the keys and you start settling in.

Terry Jordan, of Tate County Mississippi,  quickly fell in love with a home in Senatobia. It was a foreclosure and needed a lot of work.  Her husband had just lost his job. He was going to fix it up and sell it for a profit to help them while they got through a tough time.

IT WAS A GOOD IDEA AT FIRST

It was meant to be a nice gesture, but unfortunately it backfired.

A married female, volunteer coach who escorted a 17-year-old Oregon high school athlete to his prom has been dismissed from her job.

Melissa Bowerman, 41, drew strange looks when she arrived at the Condon High School's prom with the boy last month.

Melissa is married and she and her husband were volunteer coaches for the Condon-Wheeler track-and-field team.
