A Day of reflection

Given some time to reflect on the horrific school shootings yesterday, some thoughts...

Pray for the families affected. Not merely the ones who lost a child, but also the ones who have children who were spared, but are now emotionally scarred for life.

Pray for the emergency personnel working this tragedy.

I find this infuriating beyond belief. Watch this video....

I heard Ashley and Brad talking about this story on their show this morning and it blew my mind.  Watch the video and tell me what you think.  I'm taking calls on this on my show until 6pm.  656-2975.

I'm not a middle of the road guy

While driving to lunch today something hit me. Well, ALMOST hit me. On a traffic island in the middle of Broadway was one of the people being paid to hold a client sign and wave it frantically toward passing morotists hoping to garner their attention. The ultimate goal being to distract you as the motorist long enough to make an impression and hopefully a sale. Am I the only one who see's the problem here?

Father's Day

If there's anything more wonderful in this life than the birth of your child, I haven't yet found it. Our relationship's with our maker is biblically our primary one, but, the relationship with our children is absolutely right there too.

Our loss is Heaven's gain

On May 31st  2011, I lost a good friend.

Supreme Court and Free Speech....

The Supreme Court has ruled by a vote of 8 to 1 that the members of Westboro Baptist Church are protected by the First Amendment right of assembly and free speech in their protesting at the funerals of fallen marines.

WARNING - Four Loco may make your kids more than just a little crazy....

Heard of Four Loko yet? No? High school and college students definitely have, and according to CBS News, it’s sent a lot of them to the hospital. The beverage is sold next to the energy drinks in many stores, is twice the size as a can of soda, and comes in fruity flavors like watermelon and blue raspberry. Each can contains caffeine, and about 60 grams of sugar. Don’t be fooled. Four Loko is also 12% alcohol, and experts say drinking a can is equal to downing three beers, a can of Red Bull, and a shot of espresso.

YOU can save a life.

This is the week of the 23rd annual Orange/Blue Blood Drive, a friendly competition between the Medic locations in Lexington and Knoxville to see which area can achieve the most donations to their blood banks. While some good natured rivalry exists, the true goal of the competition is far more important. The blood gathered during this period is stockpiled to insure there is blood available during the Christmas to New Year's period where donations traditionally decrease. While donations drop, the need for blood doesn't.
