So, for giggles, let's throw one more in:  Tiger Blood himself... Charlie Sheen!

Oak Ridge Firefighters to Get New Responsibilities

Let’s hope Knox County doesn’t get the same idea.

Soon, Oak Ridge residents might see a firefighter writing a parking ticket.

But wait -- not all firefighters will be authorized to do that -- only the three top officials, Chief Darryl Kerley and his two deputy chiefs, will be carrying a citation book.

The Oak Ridge City Council on Monday approved the citation-writing which is already being done, in part, to assist the Oak Ridge Police Department in addressing some parking issues that firefighters often encounter first.

The Solution to Loneliness

We all feel lonely from time to time.  Sometimes our husband or wife is out of town, maybe the kids are at Grandma and Grandpas for the summer, or even maybe you're going thru that "empty nest" syndrome.

So, what do you do?  Reconnect with an old friend via the telephone?  Or maybe text a friend and ask them to meet for dinner?

How Much To Feel Rich?

YouTube: The New News Outlet

A new study has found that YouTube has become a major platform for news, one where viewers are turning for eyewitness videos in times of major events and natural disasters.

The Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism on Monday released their examination of 15 months of the most popular news videos on the Google Inc.-owned site. It found that while viewership for TV news still easily outpaces those consuming news on YouTube, the video-sharing site is a growing digital environment where professional journalism mingles with citizen content.

Women Surpass Men

Ladies, we have a reason to celebrate this morning! And it's a reason THE MEN don't really want to hear. For the first time in 100 years, women now score higher on IQ tests than men.

Yes, the latest research from James Flynn, known as an IQ testing expert, showed women have closed the gap and moved ahead of men in this battle of the intelligent sexes.

Flynn says “Over the last 100 years, everyone in the developing world has been gaining about three IQ points, but women have been gaining faster,”  on a standard IQ test.

Facebook Makes A Change

One of the absolute joys of Facebook is the ability to anonymously stalk people.  I mean, without being able to see how chubby everyone from your past has gotten, why would you even have a profile?

But yesterday, Facebook took the first step toward ruining the glory of stealth-stalking.  And it scares us.

As of this past week, whenever you visit a Facebook group, like your bowling team or a party announcement, you can see a list of everyone who's seen each of the posts in that group.

Leave Nothing Behind But The Truth

A 59-year-old Utah man who wrote his own obituary before he died last week used the opportunity to come clean.

Friends and family of Val Patterson learned Sunday that the man they thought held a doctorate from the University of Utah received the degree thanks to a paperwork mistake and that he never even graduated.

Patterson died from throat cancer on July 10 and he wrote his own death notice in the first person last fall.
