Bijou Awards

Give your teenagers the recognition they deserve at the Bijou Awards.

With high school awards for best singer male and female, best actor male and female, best creative writer, and there’s even an award for your middle school singer: the rising star.

The winner in each category wins $1000 and their school wins an additional $500!  

Open auditions are December 6th, from 11am to 3pm at the Bijou Theatre, with callbacks the following weekend, December 13th and 14th.

Pink Ribbon Celebration

The 6th Annual Pink Ribbon Celebration will be Thursday, October 30th, 2014 at the Grande Event Center off Merchants Road. There will be a buffet dinner, free parking, guest speaker Holly Warlick and entertainment provided by The Temptation Revue.

This evening is a celebration for breast cancer survivors. Each table will be decorated in the spirit of our theme “Reason for Celebration” to showcase the different occasions we celebrate throughout our lives.

Walk to End Alzheimer's

In 2013 the Knoxville Walk raised over $22,000, contributing to more than $57.2 million raised nationwide for care, support and research efforts for those impacted by Alzheimer's.

Rock the Cradle to benefit Secret Safeplace for Newborns

Rock the Cradle, benefitting A Secret Safe Place for Newborns of Tennessee, will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. at the Maryville College Alumni Gym.

Laurel Wright and Smooth Groove will provide live entertainment. 

The event will also include a silent auction and Sonny's BBQ. 

Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for students, and $10 for children 12 and under and all tickets include dinner.  Tickets can be purchased at Sonny's BBQ, Blount County Chamber of Commerce, and The Daily Times.

Yoke Dynasty Banquet

Medic Tailgate Party Blood Drive

With the Labor Day holiday coming up, Medic Regional Blood Center is preparing to get ahead of the anticipated need for blood.  

Medic’s facility is closed on Labor Day which means no collections coming in for our area hospitals, however, shipments will still go out to area hospitals.   In order to boost collections ahead of the holiday, Medic will offer all donors at any location on Thursday, August 28 a free Regal Cinema movie pass. 

Irishfest on the Hill

Sat. Aug. 9th, 2014, from 4-10 pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Irish Food, Irish Beer, Irish bands and dancers, silent auction and venders, I.C. Women will be making wonderful goodies to eat and of
course the famous ‘coffee with Bailey’s’.

You don’t have to travel to Dublin to get a taste of Ireland.

Come Saturday, all things Irish will be right here in Knoxville, at Immaculate Conception’s Irish Fest on the Hill.
