29th Annual Newport Harvest Street Festival

Newport, TN – On October 4-5, 2014 the streets of Downtown, Newport TN will be filled with people, food, crafts and entertainment!

Craft vendor and food vendor applications are available at the Chamber of Commerce office or online at www.cockecountypartnership.com. We are looking forward to having some of our repeat vendors this year as well as the new ones that have committed to attend!

This highly anticipated annual event promises to provide the crowd with a weekend to remember!

Goodwill to Host Job and Resource Fair

As part of National Goodwill Industries Week, Goodwill Industries-Knoxville, Inc. will be hosting a job and resource fair May 8th at the 5307 Kingston Pike location from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Local businesses will be available to talk about potential employment opportunities and answer questions. This event is open to the public and anybody currently seeking employment is encouraged to attend.

4th Annual Fluff-A-Palooza - May 3rd, 2014 @ 1-4 PM

Maryville Small Animal Medical Center will be hosting our 4th annual Fluff-A-Palooza on May 3rd from 1PM -4PM. This is a benefit to raise funds for our FURRY HEROES, with all proceeds going to the Blount County K9 Association. We will have a free food, a live DJ, inflatable slides, games, raffle prizes, and much more! This is a family friendly event, including your pets!!!

Farragut Book Fest for Children

Presented by the Farragut Arts Council and the Knox County Library Farragut Branch, the seventh annual “Farragut Book Fest for Children” will be Saturday, April 12, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Founders Park at Campbell Station located next to the Farragut Branch Library on Campbell Station Road. Clayton Center presents Comedian Jon Reep

Born in Hickory, NC, Jon moved to Raleigh to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater at North Carolina State University. In 2000 Jon was invited to perform at the prestigious Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal, Canada and has since been invited back to perform in the “Best of the Fest” and a “Gala” show. Soon after he moved to Los Angeles to further his career as an actor and a stand-up.

Clayton Center presents Diamond Rio

Six-time Vocal Group of the Year, Diamond Rio won their first Grammy for their album The Reason on Word Records, which also garnered the band their first Dove award.

Formed in 1984, Diamond Rio features lead singer Marty Roe, guitarist Jimmy Olander, drummer Brian Prout, keyboardist Dan Truman, bassist/harmony Dana Williams and Gene Johnson on mandolin/harmony.

Town of Farragut Spring Gardening Workshop

On Saturday, March 22, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Town of Farragut Stormwater Matters Program and Office of Sustainability, in conjunction with the Knox County Master Gardeners, will host a free spring gardening workshop in the Longstreet Pavilion at Founders Park at Campbell Station (formerly Campbell Station Park).

A native landscaping presentation will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by a planting demonstration. Presenters will include Gwen Slater, Farragut’s 2014 AmeriCorps service member, and members of the Knox County Master Gardeners program.

2nd Annual Crusade for Christ

Come out and join Guiding Light Ministries of East Tennessee, as they host the 2nd annual Crusade For Christ. This year SILENCING STONES Christian Band will be headlining this all day event.

There will be FREE Food, Free Music, Free entertainment for the kids and so much more. We are also doing a faith in action by having business come out and donate their time and materials for you all day.

Last year was an amazing inaugural year but This year God has given a goal to double the help and Blessings.
