Since 1891, The Salvation Army Red Kettles have been a part of America's Christmas tradition. Money donated to the kettles helps provide food for the hungry, shelter for the homeless, and safety for women and children who are victims of abuse. Most of all it provides hope for nearly 30,000 people every year in the Knoxville area.
The campaign kicks off Thursday, November 14 and runs through Christmas Eve. Kettles are out Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at more than 50 locations in around Knoxville, Oak Ridge, Alcoa and Maryville. Shifts are two hours long.
