A Big Winner In Knoxville!
RICH KNOXVILLIAN
Someone in Knoxville may be an overnight millionaire.
That's because a winning Tennessee lottery Powerball ticket worth $1 million was sold in Knoxville. The ticket was sold at the Kroger store at 9161 Middlebrook Pike.
The ticket holder has not come forward. The store will get a $5,000 prize for having sold the ticket.
The winner matched five of five white ball numbers: 24, 33, 36, 48 and 56. Had he or she also correctly picked the red Powerball number, the prize would have been the jackpot of about $110 million.
It is the 93rd time there has been a $1 million winning ticket since the lottery was established in 2004.
There also was a winning ticket worth $380,000 in the Tennessee Cash drawing sold at a Bread Box store in Crossville.
