Peanut Butter and Jelly Makes a Difference!

PB and J Brigade

Hopefully you had a great Thanksgiving where you gathered with family enjoying turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, dressing, sweet potatoes... Whew! A feast!

Here’s just a heart warming story of a family in Sacramento who spent their Thanksgiving really giving.

6 years ago they started distributing lunches to the homeless in the area. Tommy Edwards and his mom get busy in the kitchen preparing Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches for those in need.  It started out with just 10 to 15 lunches back then and it’s grown now to 250 meals for the homeless! The project has become known throughout the city as the “PB and J Brigade.”  And during it’s years, it’s grown from just the peanut butter and jelly to now including  cookies, water and even PET FOOD! (because he noticed many of the homeless have only a pet as their family.)

Tommy is only 9 years old... Yep, he started the project to help the homeless when he was only 3 years old and noticed that some people had no family to eat with during the holidays.

His mom says:  “I’m very thankful for his heart and it’s not just Thanksgiving, he has an amazing heart every day.”

We need more TOMMY’S in our neighborhoods!
