Vote for Your Favorite School Lunch!

You can vote online for your favorite new school lunch recipe starting today at  The U.S. Department of Agriculture challenged teams of school professionals, chefs, students and community members to come up with new recipes that would fit into the school lunch program. The categories: whole grains; dry beans and peas; and dark green and orange vegetables.
 There were 340 recipes submitted, and 15 have been chosen for the final stage of the competition,
 --Including a recipe for tasty tots; chicken Alfredo with a twist; porcupine sliders; crunchy Hawaiian chicken wrap; and confetti soup.
 --Most of these recipes are low in fat, high in fiber and inexpensive to make.
 --People are encouraged to try the recipes themselves and then vote for their favorites for the Popular Choice award by May 15.
