This is crazy! According to the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, the increasing level of fatness in the world is as bad as an extra billion people. The researchers calculate the weight of the global population at 287 million tons!

But we could all change that if we ate a healthy meal.

Researchers have put together what some are calling the “healthiest meal.” It was four years in the making, and designed by scientists looking for combinations that would provide the most nutritional value.

The meal starts with a salmon appetizer and green salad. The main course is a chicken casserole, lentils and mixed vegetables. And since no meal is complete without dessert, this one serves up a pudding comprised of yogurt, walnuts and a sugar-free caramel sauce.

The main course alone could make about 80 health claims, like protein to grow muscle mass and lentils to reduce fatigue. The meal also includes Omega 3 fish oils, reputed to jump-start the brain.

Researchers at Leatherhead Food Research have also made some recommendations for snacks that offer health benefits. One is a mixed berry shake that can be used as a meal replacement for dieters.

If salmon isn’t your thing, or you don’t really like casseroles, other meals could potentially offer the same benefits. Researchers say several different meals could achieve similar goals.
