Over these next few weeks, passenger traffic will be busier than normal at the airport. And as always, McGhee Tyson Airport is working with its tenants and airline partners to ensure that the airport is cleared (and cleaned!) for your takeoff this holiday season.
If you’re traveling during the holiday season, here are a few tips to consider:
- Arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight to find a parking spot and get through the TSA Security Checkpoint.
- Check your flight’s status before coming out to the airport by visiting FlyKnoxville.com or using your airline’s mobile app.
- The airport parking garage is currently under construction, so if the parking garage is full, passengers can find a spot in the Economy Lot located behind the Airport Hilton. Visit FlyKnoxville.com to view real-time parking inventory.
- Reserve your ground transportation (taxi, rental car, or ride share) accommodations in advance to ensure a timely pick-up. Visit FlyKnoxville.com for a list of licensed taxi companies.
- Face coverings are required at all times while in the airport and on-board your aircraft, regardless of vaccination status.
If you’re picking up loved ones, here are a few tips to consider:
- Due to increased passenger traffic, you can use both the upper and lower roadways to pick up loved ones from the airport.
- Guests are allowed inside the airport terminal building to greet and pick up loved ones.
- Utilize the airport’s phone and wait lot to pick up loved ones. A map of the location can be found on FlyKnoxville.com.
