Bio
Chuck is a native East Tennessean. Born and raised in Kingston, Chuck marched in the band and graduated from Roane County High School.
Chuck was one of those kids that would sit in his parent’s car and listen to great AM radio from Chicago, New Orleans, St. Louis and any other AM radio stations that might be listenable at night. From an early age, Chuck was hooked on radio.
Chuck’s first stab at radio was in the family camper where he recorded his own “radio show.” Next was the big time for Chuck, a real radio station in Kingston. Chuck worked there through high school.
Next, Chuck turned 18 and moved to, Chattanooga, where Chuck was a dj on KZ106 until he eventually moved back to Knoxville. Chuck took a couple of detours on his way back on the radio. He helped people see better in the optical business then he felt a calling to teach. Chuck went back to school and graduated with a degree in elementary education from Tennessee Tech.
Chuck taught elementary kids in Knox County where he learned more from his students than he ever taught them. It was a great honor to teach. Chuck also learned to appreciate the tremendous pressures on teachers and the long hours of hard work, they devote to teaching. Chuck enjoys gardening, tinkering with things electric, cooking and eating, movies, live theater, and live music. Chuck is a little bit nerdy at times.
