Kids in Kentucky won’t be forgotten this Christmas, even though tornadoes destroyed their homes. Julie Gerding, owner of Martha’s Market in Dandridge, started the toy drive last week called, “Not letting Santa Forget KY this Christmas.”
Gerding saw a news story with a father talking about his home destroyed and worrying the kids would think Santa won’t find them. He also mentioned everything for their Christmas was gone. She is working with the governors office to help Santa remember Kentucky. Gerding rented a big truck to fill up by late Monday afternoon with toys in storage bins. The additional storage bins can be an additional help to storm victims who may have lost everything.
Bring new and unwrapped toys to Martha’ Market through this evening, December 20, 2021. The truck and all of the toys are leaving Dandridge tomorrow morning for Mayfield.
