The Knox County Health Department is urging everyone to make plans to get vaccinated against the flu to keep themselves and their loved ones safe and healthy this flu season. KCHD is currently offering the flu shot, flu mist and high-dose flu vaccine at its Main and West locations.
People may make an appointment by calling 865-215-5000.
KCHD will vaccinate insured and uninsured adults and children against the flu at no cost to the patient, although insurance information will be requested, if available.
The Health Department will also be offering the flu shot at several community clinics as a part of the Tennessee Department of Health’s Fight Flu TN Day. Those clinics will take place on Wednesday, November 9 at the following locations:
- KAT Transit Station from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- 301 E. Church Avenue
- Haslam-Sansom Ministry Complex from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
- 1740 Texas Avenue
High-dose flu vaccine will not be available at the two community clinics but is available at the KCHD Main and West clinic locations.
