I could read stories like this all day!
A California family is celebrating an incredible reunion after their beloved Australian shepherd, Fig, made it home following a 10-day adventure that began with a Fourth of July fireworks scare.
The seven-year-old dog bolted during the holiday celebrations and spent the next 10 days on the run, covering nearly 30 miles from home. Fig’s journey came to a happy ending when a good Samaritan spotted her and contacted authorities.
For Sergeant Ricky Morley, the rescue was especially meaningful. He said helping reunite Fig with her family was one of the most rewarding moments of his 20-year career.
Fig’s story is a powerful reminder of how resilient pets can be—and how a caring community can make all the difference in bringing a missing family member home
